This unique blue porcelain platter has gone through many stages in the making.

Beginning with colouring the porcelain body to a pale blue colour, the shape of the platter is made over a hump mould and left to dry to before a black porcelain slip is applied to the underneath. Then a pattern is etched into the surface. A stronger blue underglaze is brushed onto the platters topside. Once fully dry & refined it goes through the first firing. Following this a clear glaze is applied & back into the kiln for the last firing to high temperatures.

This piece is fully functional & food safe. I would wash by hand.
